Some video finds, so far. The first for Alex.
1) Roger Shaw - Announcer - Television SouthWest (TSW)
2) Border Television (1980)
3) Border Television Clock (1980)
4) First offering from Anglia - possibly around 1983/4.
5) Another offering from Anglia - I think from around 1985/6.
6) Anglia Television - Micheal Speke
7) Anglia Television - Unknown #1 - possibly Caroline Oldrey.
8) Anglia Television - Unknown #2
9) Anglia Television - Unknown #3
10) Anglia Television - Unknown #4
11) BBC2 - May 1974
12) BBC2 - May 1974
13) BBC2 Clock - May 1974 (a proper mechanical clock)
14) BBC2 rotating cube logo - May 1974 (also a mechanical affair) - see last photo.
15) The above BBC2 logo, as it is today - used as a pencil older on the BBC Graphics designer (who designed it) desk.

Thanks for those Sparky, really interesting with the logos and TV listings! Several programmes I can't think what they were now going by the titles.
The "Anglia Televison - Unknown 2" presenter is Patrick Anthony who also had his own Cookery show (!) Patrick's pantry I remember, but if anybody watched it in our house, would have only been my mum!

I am guessing that the first Anglia menu was from around 1983/4 - as "Widows" is listed.

Wonder when they started showing faces, rather than just hearing the announcer? Each ITV company did it pretty much from day one. It was gradually phased out to 'voice over' announcements in the mid 80s. "Central" were using in-vision announcers until around 1987.
Grampian TV were one of the last to do away, they had in vision announcers in 1999 - I would think they changed when the "ITV" generic branding came in.
Not sure when any of the larger companies - such as Thames, LWT, Granada moved away from it.

I recognised the unknown no.4 as he appears on shopping channels, Paul Lavers is his name, also an actor.
Looked at the tv ark website & unknown 3 is Verity Lines, she has a sister Judi Lines who was also an Anglia & later Tyne Tees announcer.

Nice one Sparkers. I love the 2 mechanical clock and where it ended up. Better than a skip I suppose.
