In 2010 me and my friend decided, with our kids, to do a ‘Gavin and Stacey’ meet. We travelled from Hertfordshire to Barry Island and spent the weekend sitting on the beach where Smiffy got stuck in his rubber ring, went to the fair to ride on the dodgems, saw all the merchandise with ‘Sugar T*ts’ emblazoned on the front and finally made our way to Gwen’s house. We took pics of us outside the house (of course I can’t find them now) and then the owner spotted us and invited us in. Little did I know until joining this forum that people do this sort of thing all the time with their favourite TV programmes! I mean it was nowhere up to Gene’s standards by any stretch of the imagination but we had a fab time 😊

I like watching Gavin and Stacey; my wife and I did say a while back that at some point we would go to Barry Island and visit a few locations from the series. Steed

Strange coincidence that you mention Gavin & Stacey CG because our youngest sent me a link earlier for the Daily Mail website as it has an article today on filming locations. As to be expected it is just a general overview of a handful of locations and none are really new but Gavin and Stacey was one of those covered. The full article can be found >>> HERE <<<Be prepared though, as is usually the case the page will be slow to load because of the excessive adverts that the papers like to plaster their web pages with. Sam.

Thanks Sam - I should have screenshot one of those and pretended it was one I’d taken myself! We didn’t realise at the time either Steed that the Billericay scenes were also shot in Wales and we could have incorporated those too 😊

I really liked that series and watched last year's Christmas 2019 special just the other night as it was on tv here. I bought it on dvd and gave it to a friend when she had to go to hospital last year. It is a heart warming, funny show and hits the spot of real life at times.

I like it too but was annoyed that they edited the lyrics of "Fairytale Of New York". If it's offensive, then edit it out completely or why have it in the first place? It was included when it was shown only a year ago. I know it's a devisive subject so I'll leave that there but there are some great moments in it and as Albert says, I'd like to see what happens **Spoiler Alert** after Nessa proposes.
