Yes 3L I've just noticed the sad news about Michael on the Liverpool Echo site. It doesn't seem Covid-19 related but sad all the same. www.google.com/amp/s/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/shock-sudden-death-liverpool-actor-18337648.ampYes Michael is probably best remembered for his role as happy go lucky, but having no ambition journeyman Chrissie Todd in Alan Bleasdale's Boys from the Blackstuff. Chrissie's story along with Dixie's and George's are arguably as good, revelvant and powerful as Yosser's and Michael played him very well, we all know a Chrissie - perhaps we are one? drifters who are just happy plodding along and don't handle change or the truth (facts of life Julie Walters Angie pinpointed to him) too well sometimes. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b013rjgkMichael's also remembered for The Liver Birds, Thomas Tank (V/O), No Surrender and his other roles in the BBC revived Auf Pet, The Pro's and Minder and like his brother Paul who was in The Sweeney, Michael would have been a good actor (bit part Squad man?) for the show IMO. The Pro's Lawsons Last Stand is on ITV4 this morning a fitting tribute to Michael... come BBC and repeat Boys from the Blackstuff rather than the usual tosh you put on all the time, it's worth a showing regardless of the passing of Michael today. RIP Michael thanks for your contributions to British TV over the years.

Such sad news - his story telling was a massive daily part of my children’s lives (and therefore mine too) growing up with Thomas the Tank Engine. And no age at all. RIP x

Just heard about Michael, really sad news. He was a good actor, great in Boys From The Blackstuff, and a perfect narrator in Thomas The Tank Engine. I'm genuinely sorry to hear this news.
RIP Michael.

Very sad news. Quite sudden too and only 68 years old. RIP Michael. Sky NewsThe BBC had him at 76, Wikipedia had him at 68 however they have now corrected that to born in '44 so I guess he was that bit older at 76.

Sky NewsThe BBC had him at 76, Wikipedia had him at 68 however they have now corrected that to born in '44 so I guess he was that bit older at 76. There's more than a little confusion over his age. IMDB also have him listed as born on January 18th 1952, making him 68., as do Sky News, The Daily Record, The Daily Mail, The Guardian, The Mirror, The Independent, The Radio Times and many other News sources. I think 76 is closer to the mark though, given his brother Paul was 77 when he died in 2009.
