I built a kit car once. It was a Dutton Phaeton! 1/1 scale! Based on a knackered Ford Escort.
1983 seems a long time ago.

Guess it’s tough times at the moment for everyone! and can be hard trying to find stuff to do! sat in the garden earlier in the sun reminiscing about all the meets I’d been on in the past and what good times they were and remembering the very first one I attended back in October 2011 a Sweeney one which covered locations from the episode nightmare, and also meeting the rest of the squad! Seemed a bit weird at the time with not knowing anyone, but it only took the one Meet and I was hooked!! Seemed so long ago now but was just blown away about how good the day was, how friendly everyone one was, but how quick it went to! and before ya new it the day was all over! and with apprehension ya were saying ya goodbyes to everybody who were, for some at the beginning of the meet, strangers you’d never met before! but at the end of the meet that was a totally different case, and like every other meet that since as followed, you’d say see in 6 months time again lol! There’s just so much to take in and so many locations! and if ya weren’t driving to the meet locations you’d be walking round to them! then suddenly you’d get the gov’ chucking in completely random bonus locations!! and also if it was either March or October it was always sunny! Anyway hopefully at the future meet it would be good to see the likes of Three Litre’ and Sparky there! I’m sure they’d have the same response if they attended! and of course DI Drake to which must have been really frustrating not being able to attend since it was her first!

I can assure you I'd be delighted to meet the people I have been exchanging posts and messages with and witness first hand the guv and admins expertise on the locations first hand.

Getting back to achievements, there must be someone whose built a model of the Cutty Sark in matchsticks or some such project by now!
I do have a longing to build a big Airfix kit, they do a 1/24 scale Mosquito, which would you believe is £140!!

The gluing it together bit I will be pretty good at - the painting side, no way!
Mind you we haven't done a bad job of the buildings for the Model Railway.....

My tolerance of anything to do with other humans is already so low, I’m genuinely concerned by this statement . I have no issue at all with queuing ... it’s just that, generally, the majority of people in said queue are vile . I may have to go and live in the middle of Dartmoor. Keep your Binoculars Handy - look out for the Beast of Dartmoor!
I thought Dartmoor was a prison - not sure you'll enjoy it there Alex!

I've been doing a bit of railway modelling and have built and painted a few wagon kits. I tend to spray paint them before sticking them together

I've been doing a bit of railway modelling and have built and painted a few wagon kits. I tend to spray paint them before sticking them together I haven't got suitable spraying equipment, or the confidence to do it. A mate of my Sons buys up old shells at Toy Fairs and re-sprays them, and then adds all the decals. He's got one our old shabby Class 37s for painting.
My level with that kind of modelling stops beyond anything electronics. With a lot of the old locos, we have and on-going project to rewire them, and fit Head/Tail lights. So far we've only managed to do a 57 and 33. Also there are the motors to pull to bits and clean too.
Thing is, when it's warm and sunny, I don't like sitting around inside; as we know here in the UK - that Warm/Hot spell may be the last you get for a while - and then you'd be stuck inside totally as it's too wet to go out.
