Uh-oh. Goldfinger has arrived first ... Is it much like with Doctor Who, do you think? The person who was Bond when you were a kid or when you first watched it is almost inevitably your favourite? No, that's not how it works. Connery was Bond when I first watched it but Roger Moore was by far the best. In my opinion the best one of his was "The Spy Who Loved Me" which had an excellent opening ski chase and an equally good theme tune of "Nobody Does It Better" sung by Carly Simon. Next would be "Live And Let Die" followed by "For Your Eyes Only", "The Man With The Golden Gun", "Octopussy", "A View To A Kill" with "Moonraker" trailing at the end. If you want to be put off of Bond films completely then start with "Spectre". Absolute cack would be an understatement with a lazy storyline and so much CGI that they may as well have employed Pixar. Sam.

Sam. Alex, keep the first two of these DVDs then use the rest as shiny bird scarers in the garden.

You've reminded me of Sick Boy from Trainspotting LE - not the T2 sequel.

I remember at the time of its release seeing a clip of Sean Connery commenting 'Trainspotting is a film everyone should see'.

I agree as it's a bit of a tricky argument to have as these films and actors can't be judged on a level playing field. Different eras, different films, different approach to a lot of them. All those things unfairly colour the outcome of the judgement . You always hear the press compare new music acts chart performance ,sales etc with bands like The Beatles. Totally ridiculous. The way I see it Connery is often held as the favourite as he lead the way. If any of the others had been given the role then they would be coveted as the best for sure. They are all good actors and did a great job on their respective films. The general direction and era based differences are the biggest moot point in this franchise.
