Dress code I suppose you'd call it, the closest I got to that was wearing band t shirts, denim jacket & hi-top trainers, I used to wear Converse All Stars years before they became fashionable They used to stink when they got wet or sweaty, especially if you left them on a radiator to dry out.
Speaking of 80's football shirts being worth money today, t shirts of bands can sell for hundreds.
That was a horrible look, a mullet with just the back permed. And wet perms. Men started using hair gel.

Here's Ipswich Town's Kevin Beattie in his house in 1982. Look at the huge Pye tv and monster Ferguson VHS player. Would have been a few quid for those two items back then i would think, especially if the telly is a 36". This is from a Guardian article 80s Footballers at home 1980s Footballers at home

Are we talking tour Tee shirts Arthur? As for the Hi top Trainers that was a thing too around the time of the Freeze video until about 1985. The ones to have were in reverse order ( see if you remember these) Number 3 Hi-Tec Tecs Number 2 Adidas - Top Ten and number 1 Nike Vandal High Always liked the silver ones personally Marty McFly wears a pair of Vandal High in Back To The Future

‘82 was the year I got a VHS on hire from a tv shop. The amount of times I mis-set the timer.

I seem to remember it being a convoluted process to set the timer on the machine. No remote with the early ones. Fortunately though the tv stations seemed to run tighter to the schedule back then though. The satellite channels don't seem to care as much if you ask me.

I had Puma hi tops, nice & comfortable.

Those trainers are something else. Very Back To The Future, to me! I've always been impressed by how 80s that film is. I mean, how do you capture the present like that?

I grew my hair quite long & had a home perm in the late 80's I was into thrash metal at the time. Permed hair for males was an 80s thing too . OMG sad to say i had that too in 1984 It was a fashion to have it permed just at the back I wasn't into Metal, I was copying Footballers of the time. The earlier mentioned Mullets was the same influence Mullets and perms a plenty in the England side of the early 80s : Bryan Robson It's hard to imagine a 1980s England Team without Perms or Mullets.
There was the Perm/Moustache or Mullett/Moustache combo too.......
