I used to have a hoodie top which I loved, Twas two shades blue and yellow! Called an Adidas Colorado’ were about £35 in in 85’ too much these days lol! Does anyone remember monkey boots’ that a lot of Girls used to wear at school! They were like a hiking boot in a way that would come up to your ankle and were a tan brown colour Mainly Only worn by the girls at school! since I was a new romantic back then I used to wear these black velvet boots with skinny jeans tucked in um! They were called ‘tucker’ boots’ in 83’, a lot of the girls were wearing these lol I remember the 'Monkey Boots' girls used to wear. They couldn't wear them at our school, as they were pretty strict with the Uniform.
Also - I remember a phase of Men wearing 'Pixie Boots' too....

Yes Sparky, DLT did that song in his pre-fondling years, with Paul Burnett.
Agree with you AP about creeping Americanism of our culture, including trick or treating.

Remember Tucker Boots, a school friend started wearing a combination of punk & goth clothing in the last year of school & he had a pair.
My brothers were goths for a period, they shared a bedroom at home & painted the ceiling black, dyed & crimped their hair & my mum caught one of them applying make up I was a few years younger so had nothing to do with it.

When I was a kid, I thought Punks & Goths were one of the same. I never understood the difference until I got a little older and wiser.
Back on the Hair thing; I remember just about everyone was having their Hair Permed.
I used to dread going to have my Hair Cut as a kid, as I hated the smell of the perming lotion they used. Every hair dressers stank of it, even if you walked past and the door was open, you could smell it outside. I hadn't smelt it for years - and a few months back (when were were allowed to go out) I walked past our local Hairdressers - and could smell the potent Perming Lotion wafting out.....
I felt like I was back in 1982...

Did you wear the Spandex too? Absolutely not though spandex wasn't generally worn by thrash metal bands, it was something the 'hair metal' bands wore.

Mind you I know sod all about fashion!

OMG sad to say i had that too in 1984 It was a fashion to have it permed just at the back I wasn't into Metal, I was copying Footballers of the time. The earlier mentioned Mullets was the same influence Mullets and perms a plenty in the England side of the early 80s : Bryan Robson
