Mullet haircuts were a trend for a while. My Mum said no way when I wanted one.

'IOU' I remember well, thought it was by Howard Jones for some reason. That young lad body popping at 1m 55s has a Guinness pub/bar towel tucked in his trousers, people used to sew these onto their jeans.
Body popping & robotics died a death didn't they? Mind you so did bmx's, in fact I barely see any kids on bikes these days, though I don't get out much so that may explain why Every Carnival Marching band of the time played "IOU". You could guarantee, you'd go to a summer carnival, and you would always hear the faint xylophone sting of "A - E - A E I O U"..... approaching!
"Body Popping" and "Robotics" - grief. Everyone (apart from me) I knew cut up a bit of old carpet, turned it upside down and had their own "Break Dance Mat".
You had to have the Carpet (Mat), Ghetto Blaster, Baseball cap turned round, baggy jeans with elastic round the ankles, and FLOURESCENT odd socks.....

I've got a Guinness Bar Towel....! Excellent. I can't find anything on google about this fad at all! In my defence, I never actually brought the towel.
I was given it at a pub, while a Guinness Promotion was going on - though I never drank the stuff!
I'll dig it out and photograph it.....

CB radio and American Football were two other fads of this era which quickly died out. CB radio seemed to disappear as soon as it was made legal.

Not that I ever bothered with one. Don't remember much of a backlash about using them whilst driving, as with mobiles now.

My parents got into American Football at some point in the 70s or 80s, I assume and still love it now. What’s CB radio?
