Why were shoulder pads ever a good look? Seeing shows where people are wearing flared trousers and other 70s gear looks ok but the shoulder pad stuff from the 80s looks bloody awful. Certainly not. They looked dreadful and reminded me of the Hulk costume.
A lot of 70s fashions are pretty up to date these days.

Agree. I actually think 80s stuff now looks more dated than 70s things do. I think 70s stuff generally has a period charm and character but 80s stuff just looks naff and rubbish. I think they each have their merits. 90s was dreadful and everything since has just been bland or a sort of pathetic conglomerate of everything which came before.

You're right on the 90s, totally style less. Although I do think fashion in the 2000s and 10s hasn't been bad.

Skinny jeans are an abomination as was/is the trend for wearing jeans halfway down your @rse so every one can see your CK boxers A sure sign I'm old and past it I guess, fashion is for the youth.

I feel like we must be reaching the end of the skinny jeans thing. Surely. It seems to have been here for 15 years or more. I want flares!

I mean, I will admit I live in them, but only through lack of choice! I do have one (obscenely expensive but beautiful) pair of flares from America, the genuine article, but it’s sad that that was the only way I could purchase such a thing! It seems insane to me that in this time where we can find pretty much anything and buy it from wherever we need to isn’t he works over the internet ... we can only buy the clothes that “they” want us to.

I was talking and thinking about the girls, rather than blokes, Steve. Don't take any notice if men's fashion really, and yes,it is for the young!
