You've lost me on a few of these, I think a trip to google is necessary! Particularly amused by the Guinness towels! I've got a Guinness Bar Towel....!

I always wanted a bmx, had to settle for a Raleigh Bomber. I remember those thin glasses & deeley boppers which is one of the few crazes that are still around. Also moon boots, who had a pair of them for the winter? Kappa jackets, Farah slacks, slip on shoes, shoes with laces on the side, wedge & step haircuts, it's all coming back to me I have to admit to having all of the above including the haircut.

I remember plenty of the 80's fashions at the time, although the characters who wore all that got called "posers" at the time I seem to remember!! I was a right plum who never wore any of that, (parents wouldn't get it for me) apart from a Pringle jumper (harked back to the earlier 2 Tone revival at the start of the decade and a pair of "Inter" trainers for P.E - although we had a strictly enforced school uniform in my secondry school, headmaster made it into a right issue and cheesed a lot of kids off - white socks were even banned.......
But kids could get away with certain shoes if they were black, which could be trendy makes like "Kicker" boots etc.
When I was at the youth club outside of school then I did make the effort a bit to fit in, with my very 80's patterned jumper (had a couple of Leo Gemelli ones - thought I was a proper dude by then!) and white socks etc!

I wasn't into labels at all, in fact I would remove a label if it was conspicuous & still do. I wore Farah trousers in my first year at secondary school ( 1982 ) before they were fashionable, they were just trousers my mum bought, nice fit I remember. Clothes were of no interest, though I liked the adidas t shirts you used to get in various contrasting colours, you could see even at that age that they were a design classic.

I’ve never understood the desire for an item because of its brand - especially when ludicrously priced! Excellent use of AWP scene though, as always. I do love Wayne . Bloody tragic story.

Shell necklaces were a common sight in the early 80s. Men & women wore them, they were often worn tight round the neck like a choker. The family went camping in France in 1981 & you would see them being sold by street sellers & on markets.
Despite my memory of them being popular I can't seem to find any pictures of anyone wearing one, they looked like this-
