Just watching this track I believe from 1983. Anyway watching the video I noticed quite a few 80s trends Ghetto Blasters, BMX bikes, the dance craze Body Popping .Very 83 indeed. Anyone else remember these 80s trends?

I love that Freeez vid for IOU Del just love the way it juxtaposes the remnants of say The Sweeney/Minder era with the emerging 'street' culture coming in from New York with Cortina's and Geezer's mixing it with BMX's, breakdancer's and the Ghetto Blasters.
I do like that one a pretty good example of a Freestyle/Electro track from that period, in fact it's still a very good track even now.
Here's their TOTP perfromance along with the follow up Pop Goes Your Love.

Freeez - IOU- 1983 Great tune Del, thanks for posting. Very nostalgic tune from mid-83. I remember it well, Annie and I were approaching our first wedding anniversary, we hadn't long bought our mk4 Cortina, and I was working alternate weekends (time and a half Saturday, double time Sunday - wouldn't get that now!) to help make ends meet. It was busy but very happy times. Watching through the video again there are a number of locations I recognise from around Clerkenwell. When I worked there I often went for a wander around of a lunchtime and so spotted a couple of locations that remain virtually unchanged. Sam.

As D.E says its has 80s on trend stuff up front but looking around the at the motors and building etc it has a feeling of lag from the 70s to it. Cheers Sam

'IOU' I remember well, thought it was by Howard Jones for some reason. That young lad body popping at 1m 55s has a Guinness pub/bar towel tucked in his trousers, people used to sew these onto their jeans.
Body popping & robotics died a death didn't they? Mind you so did bmx's, in fact I barely see any kids on bikes these days, though I don't get out much so that may explain why

Think New Song was his first hit. Well spotted on the bar towel. I remember pestering my dad to get one from the pub for that reason. That craze didn't last five minutes either about as long as the body popping Bmx's was another massive early 80s thing . There's a dedicated scene for all things BMX and some of the early bikes are worth a few quid. I had an Ammaco one. Who remembers those shade as worn by the girls at 0.57

I always wanted a bmx, had to settle for a Raleigh Bomber. I remember those thin glasses & deeley boppers which is one of the few crazes that are still around. Also moon boots, who had a pair of them for the winter? Kappa jackets, Farah slacks, slip on shoes, shoes with laces on the side, wedge & step haircuts, it's all coming back to me

Kappa jackets, Farah slacks, slip on shoes, shoes with laces on the side, wedge & step haircuts, it's all coming back to me I had a BMX, it looked great, until I rode across a building site - did a wheelie and jumped over a brick - the front wheel "mag" shattered, leaving me with a scraped chin, jagged nuts and a trip to see a very suspect and slimy Dentist - who my brother thought looked like Jimmy Saville.
My mate had a Grifter - those things were like they were built out of Scaffolding pipe. When riding them, it was like trying to drive a Bus up the side of Ben Nevis. If you tried to pull a wheelie, you'd break your back!
FFS what was the craze with Farah Slacks? Either that or they had "Ellessee" Tracksuits. So you had teenage kids walking around either dressed like their Grandad in easy slacks, or dressed like the aforementioned Saville in a dreadful (but expensive) tracksuit.
Moonboots were great for giving the school bully a good kicking.... enough said on that.
Head bags were another.....

Ellessee has sort of tried to make a bit of a on/off comeback recently Sparky although it's more their 90's styles that have been part of this revival. Didn't mind some (not all) of their stuff and were part of that French sportswear boom back then with Le Coq Sportif, Lacoste and Champion gear mixing it with adidas and Nike back then. Would love to have that classic Champion sweatshirt again, think they still do it. The Farah slacks thing was sort of around 85-ish and near enough eveyone wore them in school as we sort of didn't really have a proper uniform in our school so could get away with trainers and things like that. Sort of disappeared around 86 when dark jeans, tracksuits and chinos came in. Decent enough trousers but nothing special. Does anyone remember those Campri jackets/coats from the 80's they sort of were popular until around 87-ish until Berghaus and North Face etc. started appearing even back then Berhaus etc. cost big £££'s too!

You've lost me on a few of these, I think a trip to google is necessary! Particularly amused by the Guinness towels!
