Given music venues, theatres, football clubs, festivals etc are stymied until we get a vaccine, or until something else happens to change social distancing, I was wondering the other day whether we might get to a situation where there's less of a one size fits all approach Given that we know certain groups are much higher risk might we have a situation where they have to shield and people deemed low risk can just get on with life. I appreciate that the free roaming population are still at risk of a nasty illness and possibly worse, but the stats are similar to other lower risks we take for granted. Dunno, is that just too divisive? Or too subtle to manage? I prefer the focussed approach, I don't think the population would support one size fits all for too long. The economy couldn't stand it anyway which in itself will lead to more deaths.

Not sure I'd want to go to a large gathering for the time being. Even taking the relative risk into account it's going to be a while until the awkwardness of being near people is overcome.
We would've been better off not identifying the virus & just putting the illness & death down to 'a bug', ignorance is bliss. Most of us go through life in wilful ignorance of our bodies ( how many of us know what the spleen looks like & does? ), to be too aware of things is not usually a good thing.

All that talk of mask debating & no mention of face coverings
Also think it's funny that the Chief Medical Officer Christopher Whitty looks so unwell, his shirt & suit always look a size too big.

He always looked as if he was rather anxious to visit the loo during the press briefings! Maybe he just seemed uncomfortable alongside Boris, as he clearly wasn't happy with some of the government's decisions Vi

Think he could do with a burger and chips and a pint and letting his hair down a bit. Oh .......................

Here again! The NHS is fully loaded at the minute that is for sure but I fear for a lot of businesses. More needs to be done with respects to that. 24hr vaccinations would be a good idea !

I read that the Church Of England are encouraging people to leave their trees & decorations up Also the woman who started the clap for carers announced that it's starting up again. I'm not convinced these tactics help people in the long run, isn't it better for people's wellbeing to keep things as normal as possible? The Queen & celebs might think they know what's best for the public but they live in a different world from most of us.

During the first lockdown, a few in my road started with he clapping for carers, which was OK for the first few weeks but then descended into various neighbours taking the opportunity to creep closer and closer to one another and the next thing you know, 4 or 5 families were gathered together on one drive without any distance between them. It's taking the p***, while boiling mine at the same time. Gene.
