Twitter and Facebook are one of the problems of modern society, cause no end of problems.
Not least to various public figures whose past posts come back to haunt them.
It's as though someones recorded all your pub conversations over the years and then broadcast them.
You don't want everyone to know your innermost thoughts, surely.

News 24 and ITN plus AP and all them, have a MASSIVE archives full of video / film and audio of just about everything, every politician has said. Dating back some 80 years in some cases.
Never more have these archives been so popular - especially during an election campaign when the opposite side can find clips and soundbytes from years ago to shitestir against an opposition. They're even better at it in the USA.
They keep digging out Enoch Powells infamous comments about immigration.

The negativity of the news media is as bad as ever at a time when the public needs it least, on channel 4 news they were talking about NHS Nightingale & how it was yet to be used as if it were a bad thing & on bbc they were talking about Boris Johnson as if he was at death's door.

He may not be at deaths door but he is in hallway, only 50% of C-19 ICU patients make it out alive so he is up against it.

I think one of our local radio stations, BBC radio Manchester, has been quite good in this situation, it's been informative without being negative and has highlighted the good work being done by people and organizations in the community.

I was interested to read the recent ICNARC report on patients with Covid 19 admitted to intensive care. Some of the key conclusions are below. Only based on 2,249 patients so not a huge sample size
Who it is that ends up in intensive care with Covid 19?Often people with underlying health conditions - heart, diabetes etc Older people more at risk however the average age of admission to critical care is 60 73% are men, mostly in older and middle age There are more men in critical care in their 50s than in their 70s More than 73% are overweight or obese SOURCE: Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC) report based on 2,249 patients

This beggars belief: Coronavirus: Greater Manchester Police warning after 660 parties shut down www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-52221688I have not left my town since 15th March. I have a baby nephew who I’ve only met once, my best friend and all of my family are 25 miles away. I haven’t met my local friends for a coffee since 1st February, I’m going spare from being furloughed and missing my colleagues like mad. Other than my husband and my next door neighbour (we regularly have chats on our drives and she’s being shielded so I’m doing her shopping etc) I haven’t physically seen anyone to speak to for 3 weeks. I’m not complaining; this is what we’ve been told to do. It’s horrible and it’s made me rethink the amount of freedom we actually normally take for granted and enjoy, but I naively thought everyone was doing the same!!! How can people be so utterly selfish? It makes me so angry!

Sweden, noted for being a progressive nation, is carrying on as normal. I wonder if it's reckless or whether they are trusting their citizens to behave responsibly? I do think much of this lockdown boils down to trust & wonder whether the lockdown should just apply to cities & heavily populated areas.
The problems this lockdown is causing existed before the virus- lack of consideration for others, lack of personal responsibility re health, selfishness, etc. It's looking like the virus & the medical response will take care of itself to an extent because it has to, but who takes care of the behind closed doors impact it's having on millions of people?
