The only other lady in our office was really poorly in January with a cough, shortness of breath etc. We assumed a chest infection but no one really knows. It completely knocked her off her feet at the time. I can't help but wonder ... The same poor (lovely) lady is currently having kittens because one of her daughters is in charge of a nursing home with confirmed cases

Thanks for your wishes Batgirl but unfortunately we're not out of the woods yet. Our daughter has still been coughing and is getting pains in her side that indicate either a fractured rib or a collapsed lung. It has been going on for a couple of days now so got to keep an eye on her. If it is a rib then we can't do much aside from wait for it to heal but if it is the lung then it should right itself in one to two weeks. Any longer than that and we'll have to get her checked over. We realise she's not had it as bad as others but we're now around three and a half weeks since she first started. Sam. Sorry to hear that Sam. The coughing must be awful for her. I can't even imagine how difficult it is. I just know that there is nothing worse as a parent than seeing your child (no matter what age) unwell and of course there is still so much unknown even when we try to keep up with the news and listen to the health experts. And so many families dealing with this. Hoping for much improvement in your daughter's health and some 'normality' back to your home and family.
I watched the Queen's speech on tv replayed in the morning in Australia. It was really good. Things will get better. She's right. We just want it sooner. Take care everyone.

Absolutely, hope everyone stays safe and my best wishes to all, and your family, expecially you Sam with daughter, and that she recovers soon.
Talking to my brother on the phone the other day, he says he wonders whether he may well have had it mildly too, as he says he had fluey/covid 19 esque symptoms about Jan/Feb time but got over it in time to take his family to Disneyland Paris, so far my sister in law and nieces seem OK while they self isolate.

All I can do is provide my best wishes to you and your family at this time Sam and to everyone else on the forum.
Easy said not so easy to do but just take care of yourselves and stay as much as you can safe and well right now.

Last week, Covid-19 struck rather too close to home for comfort for my family too. My wifes Auty who already had underlying health issues and was currently in a nursing home, was diagnosed with Covid-19. This morning we received the dreaded call and it's with great sadness that we've been informed that her Aunt has passed away this morning.
A gentle reminder for all our members to stay at home over the Easter Holidays and stay safe. We can beat this thing if we all do the correct thing and keep our distance from others outside of the home.
Have a good weekend all and stay safe.
Gene.
