Fantastic to read that many of you are enjoying 4:3tv. When Gene and Sam devised this forum in 2015 they were keen to take the best from other places they had been members of and use that as a starting point for hopefully something better. They kindly invited The Saint and myself to help run the new place and right from the off we were asked for our input which was very kind of them indeed. After some intense work involving the naming, layout, content and design of the forum it was time to open the shutters and 5 years ago 4:3tv went live. The two stage registration process has worked really well allowing fantastic members with a shared interest of all things retro, to come together here and share their knowledge and have fun discussing what many view as the golden age of tv, film and music. It has been very successful at keeping spammers and trolls out fortunately. The amount of great programs, films and music that's been reccomended over the years is a great aspect of this forum that I enjoy, the jewel in the crown though is the meets. I never thought that a forum membership would lead me to travelling around this country looking at some great locations from classic shows having a great time. Five years on i can't believe how well this place has developed. Its beyond what I expected was possible. The content we set out to build on, things like The Sweeney have got in depth sections that I think surpass anything thats gone before. It takes a good membership to build a forum like this and you all do a great job in making this a great place to spend time. Long may it continue. I'd like to thank Gene, Sam and Saint for taking the brunt of the work on over the last two years. This is due to work commitments constraining my available forum time in the evenings. P.S The new theme is the best yet. It not only changes the main colours to have less glare more contrast. It also includes bigger more clearer fonts on notification etc # Our thanks go to Steve Austin for consistently producing ace booklets that accompany the meets. Cheers Steve Happy fifth birthday 4:3tv.

Well 5 years since the forum was started?? Where has the time gone? I would thank as ever, for the hard work and maintainance that goes in to the 4:3TV forum, Gene and Sam who devised it in the first place, Del and The Saint and anyone else I may have forgotten for moderating, and of course the rest of the members without whom the forum wouldn't be what it is today!
Some very knowledgeable members on here who are able to bring a wealth of information and contribute to the fun of reading and being a member no matter how large or small, and it's always an education reading about other peoples TV and film interests and music too, and perhaps giving something a try you never thought about before, like a film or TV show or music to listen to, which often ends up with (me anyway) being glad that a member introduced me to it! Or being reminder of a long forgotten series you remember years back!
Great to hear peoples personal stories from the past too of living through the golden era(s), but then of course there are the fabulous organised meets, and get togethers we have which I enjoy for a change of scenery quite often, whether it's in far flung cities in the country to where I live, or just (for me) nearish London, but there's always something new to see with the location touring days of the various productions were are fans of! Thanks too, to Steve Austin with his helpful booklets he provides too!
And it's not just that, as I look forward to seeing "the gang" of mates I've got to know over the years, catching up, the banter and having a laugh which also makes it worthwhile.
Long may it continue and all the best to all on 4:3TV!

Can only echo what's been said already. This is THE best forum I've ever been in and I really appreciate the work put in by the admins and the great stuff from the members as a whole. Looking forward to meeting up in two weeks.
I haven't been on as much as usual recently as I've had a problem with my internet connection which is now sorted out!

Happy 5th Birthday 4:3 TV.
Wow that has gone very quick. A great success and all down to the hard work of Gene, Sam, Del and the saint, well done lads. As others have said the content on here is second to none and if it's not here then it's not anywhere. Here's to many many more years and meets.

Happy Birthday from me too!
I've only been on here for just over a year although I was on the old forum for short while until it disappeared.
I agree with all the sentiments above, its a very nice to drop in to and the membership are a very friendly bunch and we all exchanged some very interesting posts, I look forward to meeting the members when I can.
