Just started watching the series Vincent again! I particularly liked this series, with being a fan of Ray winstone and also because it’s filmed around Manchester. It’s got tool box terry, Tony Crane, Annie Cartwright, and the unforgettable Gene Hunt from LOM.. they only did 8 episodes and apparently it was considered a flop at the time, can’t imagine Ray winstone doing summit like this now, it’s to low key, since his career has progressed in America, but I thought Vincent was a enjoyable series!

Vincent wasn't too bad a series, or rather two series each of four episodes. With RW playing a private detective his character is much the same as many other roles that he's played over the years, but thankfully better than the role he played in that cack that was the 2012 film of The Sweeney.
Annie enjoyed watching the series so I bought it for her on DVD some years ago. I think she only repeated one or two episodes after that.
Yes a number of LoM faces appear but one that you missed out GC was the murderous swinger Carol Twilling played by Eva Pope who was Vincent's ex-wife.
There may be more...

I've got both series on DVD and really liked it, shame they didn't do more as it was well written and acted. I only watched them all again a few months ago.

Annie and I have just started watching 'Vincent' again, one episode per evening for the past four nights so far. Having only watched it when it was first broadcast back in 2005 I had mostly forgotten the episodes but it has been well worth watching through again.
Having watch LoM through a few times ahead of what would have been this weekend's meet, sitting through the episodes of Vincent the locations are very recognisable from LoM.
Best of the first four so far has to be episode three with a brilliant performance by Shaun Dooley, and all but one so far have included Philip Glenister in the role of a copper and what must have been the 'good cop' role before developing into Gene Hunt.
Well worth a watch.
Sam.

We've just finished watching the second series now and so pleased we did, some good story lines and many locations instantly recognisable from Life On Mars. As mentioned before, the episode with Shaun Dooley was very good but now I think it was bettered by the second episode in the second series. This was the episode with Annie in it and had a superb storyline and one scene in a very recognisable location that we'll be visiting once the long-awaited LoM meet goes ahead. Overall a well scripted and acted series, a few of Ray Winston's familiar moody poses pop up but well worth the viewing. Sam.
