Does anyone remember the pyramid game, Great program!!! where ya had to answer these questions and turn over these segments which revealed a pyramid, think the top segment ya got a £1000 prize money! Twas a lot then in 1980! was on tv on a Saturday night! When tv viewing was just mint! I recently had to reluctantly be subjected to the Voice’ which is now the type of main crap which makes up Saturday night tele’ and what an absolute load of pretentious nonsense! Which leaves ya with thinking! Is that program really about the contestants or is it about the judges! Yawn yawn! I remember the Pyramid Game.
When you think back - the game shows of past - though some were very basic and perhaps tacky - but seemed more watchable than some of todays offerings.
ITV sadly went through a nasty phase of making all of their game shows "Celebrity" - which totally alienated me.
Sadly, I was once subjected to the "Voice" too - however, I had some councelling thereafter - which included a DVD binge of "Italian Job", "Get Carter" and "Black Windmill" accompanied by a couple of bottles of Hobgoblin.... it did the job.
The jury is still out on the new "Music Quiz" on BBC1 too - most of the contestants must have had their brains removed, as they can't even answer simple music questions - such as "Which Swedish Musical group released Dancing Queen"......
