I suspect it will be thin gruel for us pop crazed oldies but there might be the odd nugget here and there
I'm hoping we might get a bit of....
Stone Roses Public Enemy 808 State The Sundays New Order Happy Mondays Pixies REM James De La Soul Renegade Soundwave Electronic The Wedding Present The Inspiral Carpets The Cure Big Audio Dynamite
...in amongst the dreck
Whatever may be coming down the line, here's a thread we can discuss the 1989 reruns

Yes looking forward to the 1989 repeats too LE,
Sadly about half the names on your list won't feature as they narrowly missed the Top 40 back then... the tosh which did is a bit galling.
There will still be some good-ish bits in the repeats mind and mine will be New Order doing Round and Round, Electronic, The Mondays and The Roses, 808 State's Pacific and a few other dance-centric acts like Ten City, Adeva, Inner City and Neneh Cherry.
I've mentioned this before but IIRC Snub TV appeared around this time too and many of the indie and underground stuff from the late 80's/early 90's period featured quite well and prominently on there. Would be nice if BBC Four did a repeat of that but... that's absolutely unlikely. Fortunately a lot of Snub stuff is on YouTube.

That is indeed more than a little galling
Still, as you say, there will be the odd nugget to sustain the discerning viewer
Praise be
I do remember Snub TV, though not that clearly - by 1989 I was in my late 20s and still spending far more time out and about than sat home in front of the television

Was the Kim Wilde one Four Letter Word? If so, that was very good, one of the handful of songs I like from that period.

Worth recording for Kim Wilde alone, I can fast forward everything before.

I seem to recall that was the song she was performing just before Xmas so probably kept climbing the charts. Then again might be whatever the follow up was. Watch on Friday Cartman and find out.

Is that the influence of your sisters Clarence or do you still only have eyes for your pig?
Sam.
