I like the subject matter of this event. The beginning of colour tv. Thanks for posting Peter.

Thanks for posting Peter!
November 15th see's the 50th anniversary of the "official" start of Colour TV on both BBC and ITV (it had been on test on BBC2 for about 2-3 years previous).
ATV (in the midlands) devoted a whole Saturday morning to it, with a special "ATV Today" (their local news magazine) - which kind of still exists in archive form - on film. It featured a ton of Vox pops from Brummies all looking forward to watching "Crossroads" in colour and 6 bunny girls done up in swim suits, stockings, suspenders and "ATV" branded coloured tabards wandering around the newly operational studios and out in cold wet streets of Birmingham....
TV Gold...

That looks to be an interesting event that I wouldn't mind going to. Unfortunately I can't make that weekend though. Thanks for posting PP

I hope there's going to some documentaries on TV about it.

I hope there's going to some documentaries on TV about it. I doubt it very much. There might be a mention on the end of the news or something. I haven't seen anything advertised.
The last major stuff I saw were for the ITV50 celebrations in 2005. ITV did something in our "region" at the end of the local news last year about the 50th anniversary of Yorkshire Television. And that used clips seen in the ITV50, and the entire piece was given about 2minutes before the weather.

That's a pity. Maybe something on Beeb 4 at some point.

Chris Perry, who organises these Kaleidoscope events, often appears on BBC Breakfast to talk about lost TV they or someone else has recently discovered. He might even mention this special event later this week. He's been on at least a couple of times in recent years. Vi
