After a lot of debate on the subject, we have made a few changes to the forum rules which may or may not effect you as members, depending on your forum presence/contribution.
Since we started 43tv, there has been in place a system safeguard that keeps certain areas of the forum hidden from all new members until they reach a required post count. These hidden areas include (but are not restricted to) dedicated location sections, location reports and registration for 4:3tv Meets.
Up until now that post count has been 30. However, we have been subject to some members over the years who join 43tv and proceed to post frantically to achieve the 30 post count mark, only to then all but switch off any input to the forum at all. This has been a bit of a grey area with some members also incorrectly thinking that just either logging in or "liking" a post is sufficient to retain their contribution status, so just to remove any doubt, by "contribution", we mean Posting.
As a result of a lot of discussion, we have decided to increase the minimum post count to 100 before any member gains access to the whole forum. In addition, we have also incorporated a time frame requirement which will also safeguard against members posting frantically again to reach 100. The time frame we have agreed on is 3 months. This means a member will have to have been a member for a minimum of 3 months AND also have a post count of 100.
A final caveat to this new ruling is that should a member reach the required post count - and have been a member for 3 months or more, and then stop posting for a period of 2 weeks, they will return to restricted access to some areas of the forum.
This change takes place with immediate effect and will be applied retrospectively.
A lot of hard work has gone into creating and building 43tv for genuine contributing members and we will do everything to ensure that only contributing members benefit from this hard work.
You can see the full rules including the latest updates here: 4:3tv Rules
As ever, any questions, please don't hesitate to ask either member of staff who will be more than happy to help.
