Probably my first musical love are the lyrics of Matt Johnson (the The) - the band name that caused havoc with search engines for word duplication! In 2018 after being absent from the mainstream music scene for over 12 years Matt reformed a band and did a comeback special tour.... it was excellent if you were lucky enough to see them at the 3 London gigs they did. - The Troxy was excellent. Anyway reason for this post, Matt's first tape album (only ever sold as a bootleg at early gigs in 1978) has been remastered and is being re-issued on cassette in limited numbers as part of Cassette Store Day on the 12th October 2019. (Thankfully I have one working tape recorder still in the house so will be able to listen to it and I can't wait!) Copies can be ordered online at www.thethe.com - a bit pricy in my opinion but bound to be a good listen!

I have heard the name, and they did one I liked, Heartland. It was from a period (the mid 80s) when my interest in music had waned a lot so apart from that one song I don't know anything about them

I have heard the name, and they did one I liked, Heartland. It was from a period (the mid 80s) when my interest in music had waned a lot so apart from that one song I don't know anything about them Heartland is a top track - in fact the topical political message of the lyrics today are just as relevant now Try watching /listening to Uncertain Smile (from 1983) - famous piano solo by Jools Holland when the track was recorded. In this rendition from the 2018 tour DC Collard makes it his own:
