As mentioned there was one car that stood head and shoulders above all the others for me. It may not mean much to others but for me it was the star of the show and I must admit caused me to indulge myself for some time as it was virtually identical to the first car that Annie and I bought not long after we were wed. Yes, a Jupiter Red mk4 Ford Cortina 2.0 Ghia with black vinyl roof and tan velour interior. Aside from being a manual whereas ours was an auto and ours also had a factory sunroof this car was the spitting image: Talking to the owner this car had been in storage for 19 years when he bought it in 2015. The body is all intact with very little rust and the roof is immaculate. As it hadn’t been run he stripped the engine and put in new valve seals and cambelt but nothing else needed doing. A drop of fresh fuel and it fired up immediately. Yes some of the paint is chipped but that didn’t matter. For me to sit back in the driver’s seat and also peer under the bonnet took the years right away. If I’d had the wonga there’d have been a serious offer there and then – especially when the jammy bugger only paid 700 quid for it! Sam.

A wonderful selection of motors Sam, thanks for posting them all. Difficult to pick a favourite from so many but I do love the Jags and the Fords. Both of my Brothers had Cortinas. A Mk 3 1600E in green, a Mk 4 2.0GL in silver and a Mk 4 2.0 Ghia in Silver and all were brilliant and reliable cars that I spent many hours in both as a passenger and as a driver of the later Mk 4's. I know exactly where you are coming from with the Jupiter Red car too. Happy days Gene.

What a great selection of motors, thanks for sharing Sam My favourites would be the Daimler XJ Series 1 and the Jaguar XJ Coupe. The Jupiter Red Cortina also looked great! The Saint

That's a fantastic selection, so many greats. I'm a fan of the later Cortinas and there are two good ones in your snaps Liking the Datsun 260Z , always had a soft spot for the Z cars. Also love the little Fiat roadster in the second pic. Must say the Zodiac looks very nice in the green hue . Thanks for sharing Sammy

Fantastic selection there Sam I'll state that my favourite is the MKII VW Scirocco but there are some gems there such as the Lotus Carlton & Cortina and the line of Zodiacs. Another superb day for looking at cars and taking a trip down memory lane

Nice one and thank you for those Sam! Always looks a good event that one, fab to see the pics of the Jupiter red MK4 Ghia Cortina, among the best of the Cortina model up there with the older generation models I'd say! I also like the 2 tone blue Corsair with RS wheels, (think that was a previous Classic Ford project car), the Harvest Gold Jaguar XJC Coupe, the '56 Chevy, USA spec P6 Rover, and the yellow 1300E Escort MK1 (Rare colour for one of them). Many others too.
I know the HC Vauxhall Vivas, the bronze one started life in Luton going by its number plate and the yellow one's owner lives in Dunstable, Beds, and is at a lot of local shows near me, so he gets about!

Great stuff Sam, that MK4 Cortina's my pick of the bunch but near enough everything is good at this meet. Noticed a few Zodiacs/Zephyrs too and one the same colour as Oz's from Auf Pet... Did someone rescue it from that Autobahn hard shoulder in '82? Brilliant pics Sam thanks for sharing.
