That's weird as I was watching an episode of 'Nearest And Dearest' last night that had the two lead characters locked in a cellar overnight & I watched 'Vault Of Horror' a couple of nights ago on the Horror Channel which involves a group of men stuck in a room. There are quite a number of tv plays with people stuck in a room or rooms, can't think of this one though. I hate it when I can't think of the name of a show, film or song & it plays on my mind, then you start imagining that you've seen or heard it
Another coincidence is that I saw a trailer on talkingpicturestv for a film by the director of The Nature Of The Beast, Franco Rosso, he only made 8 films in his career so quite odd that they should be showing it & a documentary about a boxer at that. What's more the man who wrote it is Gordon Williams who features in a youtube video clip I posted recently concerning Brexit type matters.

Going off topic slightly but Vault Of Horror is a classic as are most of those anthology horror films. Great stories that bad dreams are bad of. As far as the one I'm trying to figure out I suspect it was probably a Play For Today or Wednesday Play. I think it had that sort of feel.

Sorry I can't be more help. Do you ever get to that age when you start questioning whether something actually happened or existed or whether you dreamt the whole thing? I'm starting to wonder..... ;) I think I've been at that stage of my life for the last few years!!!!
When do you think the series was on TV? Early or Later 70s?
I was going to suggest it being something within "Play For Today" or perhaps "Wednesday Play", "Armchair Cinema" or "Red Letter Day". If it was shown on ITV, it'd rule out Play For Today.
