I was watching 'Brush Strokes' earlier on Drama, never understood this show. I know it's about a painter & decorator who likes birds but I still don't get it & why Karl Howman kept playing this type of character ( in The Sweeney's 'May', Minder's 'All About Scoring Innit?' ).
Do you mind not calling me squire or chief or boyo or mate?
It was yet another of those crappy, unfunny sitcoms which proliferated at about that time. I think Karl Howman was in the film version of Porridge in a small part.
Back to Brush Strokes, there was a stunning girl in it, Kim Thomson she was called, and she appeared in quite a bit of stuff on TV at that time

Not the worst thing I've seen but never really watched it nor seen the point in it either, you make a good point about it all Arthur.
Could someone put me in the picture whether something particularly relevant is going on today?
Driving home from Annie's parents' gaff tonight I've seen numerous houses with Christmas Lights on in the front garden. I've arrived home and one of our neighbours also has outside Christmas Lights on? Am I missing a point here?
So that is why I've posted in this thread, I don't get it, why have people got these lights on?
Sam.
I'm going to say this once and once only Gene: Stay out of Camberwick Green!

There is a 'Christmas in March' campaign in America from what I can see, similar to religious leaders & others suggesting people leave their Christmas lights up in January over here. Seems unlikely but maybe this may be the reason for the lights if UK social media users have picked up on it. Seems backward looking with Spring upon us.

Just checked the date on that article, it's from last year though maybe it applies this year as well.
There was something late last year, amongst all the headlines about "christmas being cancelled" and all that - where people were suggesting having it in January (like that would have made a difference), or later in the year - like June.....
Not seen any Xmas lights near us.
I certainly won't be digging mine out.
Frightened by Horror Films? - Just remember, BEHIND the camera stand even more horrifying individuals moaning about the Catering food, the hours they work and quoting Union Rules... that's just the Electricians.
