My daughter is watching Britain's Got Talent (really, not me). They had a small kids act. I suddenly remembered that teeny tots pop act on BBC I think about 30 years ago. That was horrendous, small kids about as highly sexualised as you could get. I don't think they even dare show a clip of it anymore. Channel 4 also did the "Mini Pops", that ran for a few years and was just as Sickly!
I expect it had a great audience of dirty old men, suspect scout leaders, dodgy PE teachers, and elderly men in Tracksuits smoking Cigars.

Who invented brambles?
They are a bloody nightmare to get rid of!
My old biology teacher said that if man (and woman) disappeared they'd spread everywhere and I can believe it.

Second only to Japanese Knotweed. We have issues with brambles growing at an alarming rate from next doors "natural" garden. For years I kept clipping them back, only for them to grow back within weeks. Same with Ivy they have growing up my fence from their side. It has completely covered their side for years now and two or 3 times a year I have to cut it all back to stop it hanging over my side. I have asked them to remove it or at least cut it down to a reasonable level and keep it there, but it falls on deaf ears. So, when I trim the brambles and Ivy back now, I lob the lot back over the fence into their garden for them to clear up. Gene.

I really think they should ban all these gambling ads for various slot games etc.
Particularly at this moment in time with everyone locked inside.
They just cause misery.

I have spent most of Saturday removing Brambles and that dreadful Bineweed stuff. I've dug the roots out, chucked weed killer on some of it - and it all keeps popping back up again....

It is inappropriate considering the circumstances everyone is under. OK, there are some who may be responsible, but there are others who could easily fall into that spiral of debt.
Once again - someone else is making money.

The basic problem is there is far too many of them. They encourage betting on everything angle of the sport concerned things like throw in's and corners in footy. It's definitely getting out of hand.

Yep, always thought that was getting really silly. You might as well bet on who's going to gob on the pitch first.

The thing about gambling is that, unless it's a friendly gamble, it depends on at least one person losing, which makes it mean spirited. It's always setting at least one person up for failure. Unless it's a card game it's not competitive & it's usually not based on skill, so there's something amoral & indefensible about it, like high interest rates. Who bets with someone they like or respect & feels good about taking their money?

I also find in Arcades, such as at the Sea Side - that many of the machines aimed at kids - such as those that dish out cuddly toys are also gambling. The Grabber is one heavily biassed towards whoever runs the machine.
Some kids can handle not winning anything; others - in a similar position to my youngest son - who is Autistic, don't grasp the concept - and HAVE to be in control of a situation to keep their anxiety levels down, which means they will happily pour in Pound Coin after Pound Coin until they actually won a present valued at about a 3rd of the total spent. This situation is very hard to manage - as it turns into a volatile situation within seconds. Then you get random members of the public giving you parenting advice.... (they tend to get told to go forth, or words similar to that). It worries me later on, if he (and others like him) are going to become duped by this kind of thing.
Some years ago - by brother 'acquired' some technical information and rules concerning how Machines Payout, and it is all based on a percentage. The orginal Electro Mechanical machines had "Wheel Maps", which would repeat after every 100,000 spins, within those Maps, there were certain combinations for payouts, but the payout were based on a percentage of how much was held in the machine (if the cashpot was nearly full), and also based on how much someone had put in for X amount of plays.
By law, this percentage must be displayed somewhere on the machine - usually, it's a sticker on the top of the rear of the machine. It tells you the percentage it will pay out, when it was set, and in some cases what it's based on.
There are (or were) people who made a living out of watching these machines, their maps and made a bit of a living out of it. The tech used these days is totally computer/electronic/firmware based - so the wheel/game maps will be random.
But that is how I understood the tech on the older machines worked - may have interpreted it wrong thoug.
