One of the best British TV drama series ever made and a superb thriller in its own right thanks to the late, great Troy Kennedy Martin as well as excellent performances from Bob Peck, Joanne Whalley and Joe Don Baker.

A sort of crime drama and political thriller, I thought it was brilliant when shown in 1985, one of the best of its type and still think that. It was repeated almost immediately, excellent musical score by Eric Clapton and Michael Kamen.
Admittedly like most of these things, the plot had more holes than in a one year old Alfasud but the acting by Bob Peck and Joe Don Baker was first rate.
Loved it.

I thought it was brilliant and highlighted the corruption inherent in the British government and how easily they can pull anyone's strings. Joe Don Baker was a standout as Jedburgh. His scene at the conference was outstanding.

I did like JDB in this, plus the two geezers playing the government men.
One very obvious plot hole, why on earth didn't they send in some government inspectors to check out what Northmoor were up to?
Why did they need to use a dodgy group of students?
Cracking programme though, the most atmospheric thing the beeb have done and I'm including The Herbs in that.

Edge of Darkness is back on BBC4 tonight
And then on iPlayer... I don't think I watdched it when it was first on but I do know people have raved about it ever since - see comments above
Regularly cited by critics as one of the best TV dramas of all time, and a launchpad for many careers and which regularly scores highly on lists of best-ever dramas
Are you going to watch/rewatch?

I must admit that I've never watched this and really don't remember it from the time.
I'm not at home this evening so I'll probably record the whole series for a binge watch later.
Sam.
