4:3TV are pleased to announce that through discussion between the management and some members we are once again pleased to make donations to charitable causes. In previous years we have donated only to the Make-A-Wish Foundation: >>> Make A Wish <<< which was set up to grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. As it is still a very worthy cause we will once again donate but this year we would also like to make a separate donation to The Good Grief Trust: >>> Good Grief Trust <<<The Good Grief Trust was set up to help all those suffering grief in the UK and aim to find the bereaved, acknowledge their grief and provide reassurance: a virtual hand of friendship and ongoing support. Set up by Linda Magistris (nee Slater who played Susi McMahon in Grange Hill) after the loss of her husband Graham in 2014 to cancer, the trust provides support to the bereaved to aid them through the debilitating effects that bereavement can cause. We're sure that many forum members have experienced or had to deal with one, if not both, of the traumas that each charity provide for and are once again giving other members the chance (if they wish) to make any additional donation that they may do either direct or to our PayPal account (samtyler73mad@virginmedia.com) where we will be more than happy pass on the donation. If those donating members wish to donate to only one of the charities please advise otherwise the total funds will be split 50:50 and equal donations made to each very worthy cause. We will keep all donors' names private and thank all in advance. As mentioned in the previous thread, we're not aware of any other online forums collecting and donating to charities so it warms the hearts of the Admin and Moderator team here on 4:3TV that we have the generosity of our members to thank to enable us to make these donations to such worthy causes. I forgot to add that if anyone wishes to send their donation to us at the forum by PayPal then please send your donation as a "Gift" instead of services or goods. This will ensure that all of your donation will be received by the charities rather than losing a proportion to Pay Pal fees.
As we are tax payers we will also claim for Gift Aid to further benefit the charities.
Thank you for the messages and pledges received thus far.
Sam.

What a wonderful idea to donate to two charities this time, you can count on my support again Sam. I'd not heard of The Good Grief Trust until today so am very happy to donate. Lord B.

Thank you for the donations received so far, we are approaching £150 received so to pass this would be fantastic. When making the donations to the causes we will also be claiming Gift Aid so the final amount received by the charities will be even higher. This is the largest amount that we have achieved over the years so are very grateful for the generosity of our members. We will close the appeal on Sunday 3rd March so there are ten days remaining wherein all further donations will be gratefully received. Sam, Gene, Del-Boy & The Saint

This is great news indeed and I'd also like to thank those of you who have donated. Both causes are very worthy indeed and the amount raised will be put to very good use. Thank you also to Sam for handling the donation. Gene.

An update and reminder as we are approaching the closure of our appeal: Thank you to numerous members for the donations received so far, we have now passed the £150 making this our best appeal to date. With Gift Aid added in the final amount received by the charities will be even higher. We are now in the final few days so if anyone still wishes to donate there is still time to do so before midnight this Sunday. I will then tally up the final figures as there has been a preference for one of the donations to go to Make-A-Wish only rather split between the two, make the donations, and then post the receipts on here on Monday / Tuesday. Donations may be made either direct or to our PayPal account (samtyler73mad@virginmedia.com) where we will be more than happy pass on the donation. If paying us by PayPal please send as a 'gift' instead of services or goods to ensure that all of your donation will be received by the charities rather than losing a proportion to Pay Pal fees. As previously mentioned, we're not aware of any other online forums collecting and donating to charities so we are incredibly proud that here on 4:3TV we have the generosity of our members to thank to enable us to make these donations to such worthy causes. Thanks again for the donations received to date. Sam, Gene, Del-Boy & The Saint

Now that the appeal has closed I first want to thank all that have donated to the appeal this year for these two most worthy of charities. It has been our most successful to date and thanks to the generosity of our members we have raised £160.00 which when 25% Gift Aid is added means that the charities will receive £200 between them. There was a slight preference towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation so the final breakdown was as follows: We have sent a donation of £90.00 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and £70.00 to The Good Grief Trust, they will have received my details to enable the Gift Aid to be credited to them. Please see the donation receipts: So once again a huge "Thank You" to all our members that so generously donated to our chosen charities. Sam, Gene, Del-Boy, and The Saint
