I've always enjoyed Christmas and still like many of the Christmas songs. I know some of them aren't to everyone's choice but for me even some of the poor ones bring back nostalgia and many good memories. The Cliff Richard and Maria Carey ones get on my thrupennies a bit but here goes with a few not mentioned so far that I'll mention just to gauge people's opinions:
Mud - Lonely This Christmas
David Essex - A Winter's Tale
Gary Glitter - Another Rock'n Roll Christmas
Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone
Queen - Thank God It's Christmas
Chris Rea - Driving Home For Christmas
Mel Smith & Kim Wilde - Rocking Around The Christmas Tree
East 17 - Stay Another Day
I notice there are mixed views on Wham's Last Christmas. For me it takes me back to a certain memory, sadly one of loss, where I have to listen to the song from beginning to end and it piles on an emotion that never lessens. For that reason alone I'll always hold it in very high esteem and wish to hear it every year.
Sam.

Last Christmas is indeed one of if not the best Christmas song. It also brings back memories to me - vivid ones, but thankfully much happier ones than yourself Sam. The only sadness attached to it for me is that we lost one of the best musical talents the UK has ever seen on Christmas day 2 years ago - it's writer and performer George Michael.
From your list I'll certainly pick Chris Rea's as a track I'm happy to listen to yearly, as is David Essex with A Winter's Tale.
Gene.

I’d forgotten the Mud one and it isn’t bad, agreed. I also don’t dislike the David Essex and Gary Glitter ones. The Glitter song was Christmas 84 and I think it was his last significant hit.

Last Christmas is indeed one of if not the best Christmas song. Apparently, it's the highest selling UK single not to reach #1

Forgot The Waitresses Christmas Wrapping! I like that one and it’s never been a major hit. Think it was released in 82

Apparently it was documented that George was happy on that occasion not to have got to no.1 because the Band Aid single was such a worthy cause. Sam.
