Dear oh dear! I remember it but hadn't heard that One Hundred Ton and a Feather track for many years. His voice is definitely wimpy and even more wimpy than I remember it. There have been a number of cover versions of that track but that has to be the worst one of the lot. As for The Nolans and 'Panic' well, rocking it up a bit and donning leather jackets does little to divert the fact that it is still utter cack. Sam.

Oh my days, The Nolans covering The Smiths If they were in Butlins then ok but what were they thinking. The tried to rock it up a bit but it's still somehow cheesy As for King never heard any of his recordings. Must of been a cash in pure and simple. Hated his tv stuff too. Entertainment USA ? no thanks I'll watch ITV. Thank..., they didn't cover Joy Division!

Tiffany must've thought she was alone when she recorded this- Well who knew she covered this. I assumed it was from the late 80s early 90s heyday of hers, but It's actually from 2007 recorded as an album track. I actually think this is not a bad effort and correctly goes it's own way due to the artist differences in style voice type etc. If she tried the same arrangement it really would be bad. It clearly doesn't better the original song though. Compare it to this pile , both take it along the electronic route and it's clear Titfannys version is a lot better.

Tiffany must've thought she was alone when she recorded this- Nice find, Arthur. I wonder what was going through the mind of her manager. "Now Tiffany, you've had great success with cutesy pop songs and I don't want to break a winning formula, so what should we follow them up with ? How about a song that suggests more cutesy pop songs will lead to civil unrest on the streets of Britain ?"

Most likely a gap on the album so record any song you like personally.

Lulu's dancing in it though, so that makes it ok Spot on, though I think the addition of Ruth and Louise might have made Jonathan's performance even more palatable.

I saw it in a list of 'Panic' cover versions, there were 25 in the list but no doubt there's a lot more out there.
Just watched Frank Sidebottom's 'Panic On The Streets Of Timperley', apparently about a tree falling in Timperley during the storm of 1987-
