A little bit different in that Daryl Hall is covering his own song with guests Ce Lo Green et al at one of his live at Daryl's place sessions. The reason I've put it here to garner your opinions is that in essence the version is too long and overcooked for some of the vocal. Ce Lo's voice works really well and his big soul sound is his style, he sounds spot on here can't fault him in fact but oh boy Daryl totally murders his verse and over sings. The timing of delivery is way off and its pushed about until it reaches its hammy end (See 2.28 to 2.31) Such a shame but Daryl took it too far See what you think.

How to murder a good song in one easy lesson! That is dire Del-Boy, no thanks for posting that at all!
Yes I'd agree with you that Daryl Hall went overboard but would have to disagree about Ce Lo's voice, for me it is just unrefined and squeaky with no strength to his vocals at all.
Definitely one to flush down the khazi.
Sam.

Ce-Lo's voice always reminded me of someone sucking Helium from a Balloon.

This appeared on my Youtube playlist out of the blue tonight, it didn't stay on there for long:
It sounds like a typical SAW production, whether it was or not I don't know but it works better with the sound muted.

Thankfully I don't remember that cover and don't know the artist either Samuel so I had a butchers for the details. Sandra ( full name Sandra Ann Lauer) is a German singer and this track was released in 1987. It's style certainly goes along with the S.A.W blueprint but it was in fact a Virgin records project. Obviously they were trying to tap into the signature sound that was very successful at the time Rick Astley et al. The annoying thing I find is that heavy reverb at the end of verse lines All in all a shocker of a cover Here she is in 2012

The cast of "Casualty" also did a version of it too.... May let them off as it was (I think) for Charity.

Sam I don't remember hearing this at the time of its release, so I wondered what it was when I saw it on an 80s compilation CD. Not very successful in the charts it seems either Vi

While out in the P6 this afternoon and listening to a couple of stations on Medium Wave I was "treated" to the following: I must admit to feeling rather depressed after that second one! Sam.

There's 10 minutes of life you'll never get back! I'd be depressed AF if I had to listen to either one!
Gene.

Both are as appealing as the last packet of Happy Shopper Mince Pies still on your corner shops shelves in March
