They did one which I thought was OK, A little bit of soap, in the summer of 78. Haven’t heard that for a while.

Not sure how this will be received but anything by Showaddywaddy. Never get any airtime these days but they had 15 top 20 singles between 1974 & 1979 so no flash in the pan. Yes Steve, they were often in the Top 10 around 1977-78. I occasionally here one or two of their hits being played on Radio 2's Pick of the Pops on Saturday afternoons with Gambo.

Similarly, Mud. From around the same era, their hits seemed to dry up a bit earlier. The last one of theirs I recollect was an excellent cover of Lean on Me from about Christmas 76.

Our youngest daughter (just turned 21) is not into current music much and prefers to listen to all vintages of music instead. Today she stated that there's a song going round and around in her head. She wasn't complaining but didn't know who it was by. Annie thought it was Frankie Valli so I soon put her straight on that one!
Anyway, it was another that seldom gets heard:
Sam.

I still have my 7" vinyl copy of Heartache Avenue which I bought at the time. Still sounds great, but you are right Sam, it rarely gets played on the radio these days! Steed

Heartache Avenue by the Maisonettes was excellent, late 82, from memory. I also liked Down among the dead men by Flash and the Pan. I recollect it getting quite a bit of airplay in 83, was it reissued then?
