Thanks for all the 'Likes' so far. As promised here is the second batch of pictures taken yesterday. For those that commented on the location for Saturday, all I can say is that Sunday's location was even better! I didn't quite finish the editing and selection of the pictures last night before we had to leave for the ferry but I've finished them this afternoon so here are the smudges from Sunday's meet along Ryde Esplanade:
There were a lot more cars on Sunday that hadn't shown on Saturday in addition to most of those that were. Having taken approximately 200 pictures over the two days I make no excuse or apology if I have duplicated cars.
Definitely an event that I'd recommend and I'll certainly aim to be back there again next year.
Sam.

More great pics. The blue Austin A40 with a black roof is identical to my first car!

Another wonderfully comprehensive selection of photos Sam. What's not to like amongst that lot? It's a real treat to see the more mundane classics alongside the glamour motors. Cars like the 1100, the Vivas & the Hillman cars are just as appealing to see. Thanks for posting them all again Gene.

There are a couple of duffers in there that I included just as they were the only ones of those particular models. I thought that the Sierra XR4i with the 3-spoke wheels and the Jag XJS with the Lambo-style doors were a bit , more so the XJS as the paintwork was rough too. The XR4i was in better nick just plug-ugly and further loused up with the 90's fashion 3-spoke alloys. There were some unusual cars such as the Humber Sceptre version of the Rootes Arrow (most commonly seen as the Hillman Hunter) and, not shown, also a right hand drive 1970 Ford Mustang. As can be seen the weather was perfect too so we came away with a bit of a tan in the process. Sam.

Indeed you certainly had lovely weather Sam and some more great cars there! In addition to the Sceptre you mention (the sort of "Ghia" version of the Hillman Hunter), the white Hunter GLS with black roof was a potent car in its day and the performance version of the Hunter. (Apparently in one of the "novelised" versions of a Professionals episode - it is written that Bodie drives Hunter GLS in the story!).
I love also the various Cortinas from the nice 4 door MK1 to the red MK3 GT and the Mustangs and Jaguar MK2's. Too many to list but....... agree about the XJS convertible!!! What's going on with those silly doors??? And the otherwise well kept XR4i needs a change of wheels from those "Max Power" wheels, I'd suggest RS Cosworth 3 door wheels.
The Telecom Bedford HA van brings back memories, my dad was working for them when they had those vans and he got to drive one for one specialised job for a couple of days. He normally at the time had a Dodge Spacevan.
The period advertising for a local business on the Mini van is nice too. Nice to see a "Poppy" Triumph 2000 MK1 too!

That XJS seemed to be the biggest 'fail' there in my opinion:
1) the Lambo style doors didn't suit it 2) the boot mounted spare looks out of place 3) the Jaguar leaping cat bonnet mascot looks wrong whenever it is non-standard 4) the leather interior was very worn and in need of treatment, and 5) although not looking too bad in the picture the paint was dull and in need of a bloody good T-cut or a respray.
Although it was probably worth more than the car is now I was also unimpressed with the registration "JAG 10W" as I don't like to see the name abbreviated, it makes it look more 'Essex boy' than prestige. The "10W" is quite common across the island but it is usually with the owners' initials rather than relating to the car.

More fantastic pics Sam. I must say the Isle of Wight looks beautiful in the background of the shots. That red Cortina Mk3 looked hot and I do love a Volvo P1800. I'd happily take those two Minis home too.

What a wonderful selection of cars Sam, you certainly had a good weekend for it.
Mind you, the architecture in the background of the second day has to be appreciated too!
It has been a while since I took the Gin Palace over to Cowes, I must do it again sometime as it is so relaxing over there. If the show is on again next September I think I'll make that a date.
