Last night Annie and I and our youngest daughter caught the ferry from Southampton to the Isle Of Wight both for a weekend away and to view the 17th IOW Classic Car event. This is a two-day event where the cars are displayed on the Saturday at Newport Quay alongside the River Medina, and again on the Sunday at the Esplanade at Ryde.
We'll be going to both days so here is the first batch of 60 pictures from today:
We will be going to Ryde in the morning so hopefully there will be more cars arrive which I will post up in this thread again.
Interesting to see an NHK registration on a Capri there and also of interest for me was the 1980 Honda CBX1000 with only 21k on the clock - very tidy!
Sam.

Great pics Sam, a superb selection of cars and bikes. Sometimes I like to see basic saloons which were once common, like that nice brown HC Viva, as much as the more interesting stuff.

Thanks for all those photos Sam, looks a cracking event! I keep thinking I must get over there one September for that event and maybe go in the Escort to show it over there. Many "Island" registered cars there, going by the plates which I'm glad to see have been preserved so well! Love the gold Viva Estate and the yellow MK2 Escort and the Capri and MK3 Cortina as well as the Jags and the Crestas and 50's Aston.
Even a couple of Luton (my town) registered cars which have travelled far, or owned by Island based owners now, after purchase on the mainland. (Unless previous owners retired there and brought the cars with them). They are the K reg gold Viva HC saloon and the H reg MK4 Zodiac! Noticed the NHK number too on the RS3100 Capri.

Some great smudges there Sam. They're all good but my personal favourites are the Capri 280 injection and the C-reg Escort RS Turbo.
Thanks again for posting!

Thanks for posting these Sam. What a lovely setting for this event I have just enjoyed a brew and a butchers at the fine automobiles on offer and I must say that the Pantera and the Green S Reg Lancia of which the model name escapes me are my favourites. Who would have thought that something as bog standard as an Escort van would be at a classic car show 40 odd years on? These were everywhere in varying company liveries and pop up in many iconic programmes of the era so I'm glad its been saved.
