Good one Cartman. I have a daughter who likes watching those police action things.
I don't like them either.

'24 Hours In Police Custody' & '999 What's Your Emergency?' can be good, though they do make for a depressing watch. '24 Hours In A & E' is the one I don't like as it plays a manipulative game, showing family members talking about the person who we're looking at being treated in the past tense as if they're dead, keeping us guessing as to whether the person survived or not. No doubt people have to agree to be filmed but there's something a bit unethical about some of these shows, 'GP's Behind Closed Doors' for example, I think what happens in a doctor's surgery should remain private, particularly when dealing with mental health as it's not always clear whether the patients are in the right frame of mind to agree to be filmed. 'Can't Pay We'll Take It Away' is another problematic one, why would anyone agree to be filmed as the bailiff comes to collect a debt?

The 24 hours in A and E is one I have to avoid, yes.
That trash about bailiffs turning up is the worst kind of exploitative tabloid type TV, fortunately she doesn't watch this.

Repeats of Cagney and Lacey in the afternoons on, I think, channel 5. I remember finding this annoying in the 80s when it was originally on. To me, it was shouty and noisy, the two female leads seemed to like arguing and both had voices like foghorns!

Yes, particularly Lacey. She was bloody annoying in The Enforcer as well. A gob like a blow torch.

Can’t watch 24 hours in A&E even if I wanted to. I’d be on the floor before the titles had finished.
All soaps. Without fail! Incredible that the best programmes get so few episodes and the worst ones go on three times a week for 30 years. And most of the cast aren’t acting - they’re just that vile and common in real life.

Good point about some of the soap actors Alex. An actor called William Gaunt who appeared in 'The Champions' on tv, said several years ago that producers cast parts according to how well the the person fits the character type these days rather than acting ability.

What is it with soaps? Is that where all previously good quality actors / actresses wind up for their pension? I just found out tonight that Nigel Havers is in Coronation Street! Why? Is he that desperate? When he is mentioned I always think of programs such as The Charmer, Don't Wait Up, and A Perfect Hero. But Coronation Street? Really? Sam.
