I'm going to be HIGHLY controversial I fear now. I've never really got the Beatles at all, they were, to be fair, a bit before my time, my era was the 70s, but I do recollect their later stuff from the tail end of the 60s and none of their stuff has ever really been my bag. There's a couple I quite like, from a mid point in their career, Eleanor Rigby and Penny Lane, but that's about it. Their early stuff wasn't any better of worse than several other groups around at the time, and at the end of their career as a group, to me, they went a bit weird.
I'll go and get my tin hat on!

Good to be honest about it Cartman.
I see where you are coming from about mid 60s groups sounding similar. But I think that The Beatles were above the average in this respect. They were already setting the trends by then, and did so into the later 60s (however weird it could be sometimes ).

Hey Cartman. Listen to. "A Day In The Life". It's a masterpiece. Their career end only seems weird retrospectively and by today's standards.

I suppose elements of 'The Magical Mystery Tour' film are "weird". Especially when they were wizards, up in the clouds
And there was too much spaghetti consumption.
Weird the plot may be, but to me the film is now reminiscent of the coach excursions of those years (60s-70s) than anything else

It is Rolling Stones for me. I just like their style of music better.

the stones for me but the beatles are up with them lyrical under rated with plain and simple lyrics I told that girl I can start right away
And she said, "Listen baby I got something to say I got no car and it's breaking my heart But I've found a driver and that's a start"
Baby you can drive my car Yes I'm gonna be a star Baby you can drive my car And maybe I love you Beep beep'm beep beep yeah Beep beep'm beep beep yeah Beep beep'm beep beep yeah Beep beep'm beep beep yeah (fade out)
only the beatles could make this work plus the stones could look into the future lol

Post Glam, pre Punk I was into the Beatles/ Wings. Then along came Punk & blew that away.Come the 80’s & I started to get into the Stones big time.I’ve got most of their albums & seen them live a few times. The last 10 years or so I’ve got back into Punk & Ska so haven’t listened to them that much, but what I have heard isn’t in the same league as their 60’s/70’s output.Bridges to Babylon ain’t no Beggar’s Banquet Having said that, Beatles vs Stones?Got to be the Strolling Bones for me.

It's been 51 years today since Brian Epstein passed away at just 32 from an accidental overdose.
