My SD1 did have a factory fitted steel sliding sunroof which was very nice but had the strong arm windows in it. I can't remember now but also think that it didn't have central locking

I wish I kept my Honda Civic Type R - LK02 YGR. I sold it in 2012 to a work colleague because I was worried it was going to start costing me too much money, but for what I let him have it for I should have just held onto it - even just to keep in a garage and maintain it when I could. Was so lovely to drive and had never had a car with 6 gears before!

My car history has been pretty much functional vehicles rather than anything fantastic. I did like my MK2 Vauxhall Carlton (or is it a facelifted mk1 ?) because it was cheap to buy @ £600 sovs, reliable, adequately powered for a 2.0 and had a very comfy interior. Granted it wasn't as nice as it's rival, the Mk2 Granada but I feel these cars were underrated. You didn't see many back in the day and they are quite rare now.

Both nice motors Gene. Which gets your vote between the two ? The 370z without a shadow of a doubt. Better engine and better spec and build quality. The interior of the 370 was superior too. https://www.instagram.com/p/CSAQ7NBIyeS

Interesting, most would just assume that the BMW would come out on top. The Datsun/ Nissan Z range of cars have always been a good bet. They suffer from a classic case of badge snobbery I suppose.

Badge snobbery does exist but I never subscribed to it myself. On more than one occasion the 370 'surprised' a few snobs. Don't get me wrong. As I said in my first post, I would have the Z4 back in a heartbeat too as it was a great motor. But having owned both I think I'm in a good place to judge the merits of both cars and the 370 edged the Z4 in every department. The Nissan also held its value better than the Z4 did but that was down to the rarity value of the 370z compared to the Z4. My 370z had maximum spec on it. The convertables are rare as it is, but couple that with the built in Sat Nav, 40GB musicbox storage and full GT pack and you have a highly sought after car.
Gene.
