This is the question that still plagues me. Because the problem is, I always interpreted it as Gene doesn't remember the truth until Alex/I dig him up. But then he is cagey enough to follow me to Manchester and then pull a gun on me, so perhaps something is coming back to him? But the Bevan exchange (incidentally, I think that whoever set that to the cackling on Mama is a genius) happens near the end of episode 5 which is ages before the drive up to Farringfield Green. But there isn't anything else that he could have said to provoke that reaction in Bevan; that he's scared of the rest of us and tells us to get away from him. And no, Gene, I don't buy the City V United line . I've never had anyone else to ask before because ... I don't know anyone else who would care! But I'd be interested to know what any of you think ...

I'm guessing, as no one has answered this question Bols, that no one really has a clue what was said to Bevan. I'm not going to spoil it for you either by saying it was football related Gene.

Oh I wouldn't worry, Guv, I'm just very good at killing threads! I always was very good at talking to myself, though, wasn't I? It was not football related! Do not give me that, gene!

D.I Drake!
I told you! I told you all about it, I woke up in 1973 as a D.I and nobody believed me. Now look at you, back in the 80's and working with the Guv.
Also in relation to the Bevan question: I have a feeling the Guv probably told Bevan that he'd come 'round to his house and stamp on all his toys while he was away in prison. I wouldn't put it past him. Bevan's always had it in for us but I never thought he'd go the way he did. As for Litton, have to admit it wasn't the same without him swinging by to give us a run for our money while we were working certain cases.
Here we all are now, next round's on me. You did good, Detective Inspector.
- Sam.

Thordy? That was a red herring if ever there was one. Thought I was going completely loopy at that point!
