Living in the back of beyond, I don’t get to as many concerts as I’d like but amazingly I’ve actually got they’re lined up for this year.
John Lees’ Barclay James Harvest 50th anniversary show in Manchester in May. Travis in Plymouth in June playing The Man Who (19th Anniversary) Camel in Southampton in September playing Moonmadness!
So strangely they’re all special tours, but I’m absolutely beside myself about Camel. I never thought I’d get to see them live, but thankfully I have friends in Southampton so it’s possible. The Travis tickets are for my other half, really, but he’s sat through so many 70s gigs for me that I’m looking forward to taking him to see something of his for once!
Anyone got tickets for anything this year? :)

Saw The Who, Gilbert O'Sullivan & Bucks Fizz last year. Nothing booked this year so far but hopefully seeing ELO and Bryan Ferry at some point.
Gene.

Nice post Alex. Suppose these are a bit off the radar for here but seeing The Chemical Brothers at Ally Pally and Orbital (ironically in Hammersmith) later this year.

Rogers Waters is headlining BST in Hyde park this year (Friday night). Might give it a go. Hyde Park is like how big gigs used to be. Early arrival, to get a good place in the queue, then run like an idiot to get to the front of the stage and remain there for hours. Did this for The Who, when they did Hyde Park in 2015. It was really good to see them up close. The only disadvantages is that it’s a draining day physically and Hyde Park gigs are somewhat on the quiet side. I took my sis to see ELO in Manchester, and whilst enjoyable I came out thinking I’d seen a west end show not a rock concert. At least it gave me the chance to shout “come back ELO, and play some more music!” A la Alan Partridge :D

I can see the appeal but also am not sure how much I'd enjoy it - but I think the nearest arena venue is Cardiff, so it's unlikely to happen! Most of what I want to go and see can only fill a pub anyway :)

Just bear with me whilst I process the image of Gene at a Bucks Fizz concert . No, not going to happen! I think I'd like to see ELO sometime. Enjoy! and do report back :)

ELO at the O2 for October.
Jeff's still doing the bizzo to a high standard. Saw him in 2016 and it was great so looking forward to this.

I’ll be seeing former Stranglers frontman Hugh Cornwell in salubrious Stoke on Trent in early November. I caught him earlier this year supporting Wilko Johnson and I thought he played a blinding set. Definitely looking forward to this.

Hugh is still good. Wish he'd do a big tour with the old band though
