The kinks were excellent, they came up with a great song called Come Dancing in 1983, which I think was their last.

Another classic I've just had on in the Quattro. It's a somewhat bizarre image, Gene listening to The Kinks in the Quattro.
I've had a fairly ridiculous one stuck in my head this afternoon:

It really was a very different time, wasn’t it?!
I was going to post Epitaph by King Crimson - one of my favourites - but the original isn’t anywhere on YouTube and what is there is naff, so I can’t!

Not over familiar with that track.
Is this the original?

YES! How strange. When I looked earlier I could only find half of the track! Got to be in the running for the most hideous album cover ever award but yes. Well done :)

What a great thread. Very enjoyable to read and I confess I'm a massive fan of all things 60's. I would say its the decade I mostly look back on and think wow they nailed it! the music, films and TV, cars, sport, fashions even the optimism of society, generally speaking of course. Britain seemed to be on an upwards curve.
The 70's runs it a very close second though. That decade had its own iconic features.

Another album of note - the entirety of which I played over and over for a month or so when I was in my early teens.
This song - someone has butchered it recently and that version used to be on the in-store playlist when I worked in retail and for some reason (the first 5 seconds is identical) every time I heard it I got hopeful that it would be the original. Fool!

I can't believe we haven't had any Hollies, yet! I love the Hollies. I think if I'd been there then they might have been my favourite.
