I met this team a few times on social occasions and although Captain Blue lived up to his name with the jokes he told, he was nothing compared with Colonel White and the way he chased up the Angels.
I thought I'd introduce them to the forum so here we are with the themes:

End credits:
They weren't a bad bunch but they never had the standard of equipment that Brains designed for us.

Now for the Angel Interceptors.
It was a shame that we never got to meet these socially, it can't have been a mistake that there were five Tracy brothers and five Angels. Mind you, Alan was too wrapped up with Tin-Tin so there'd have been an Angel left over.
A good compilation clip here but you'll need the volume up a bit for the accompanying soundtrack which I'm sure you'll all recognise. The good thing is that there is no sign of Maverick, Goose, Viper, or Ice-Man.

Good old Spectrum! Loved Captain Scarlet back in the day, compared to the earlier Gerry Anderson stuff it was quite dark in places, I remember the episode where CS was despatched to the surface of Mars for some reason and it was quite spooky. Years ago I had a book on the series which showed some behind the scenes photos of the sets, puppets and vehicles etc, I wish I still had it now. Oh well at least I've still got my 1967 Captain Scarlet annual!

Great vids Virgil and great pics Villain
I also had the SPV and the MSV toy cars. The SPV had the opening side door where Captain Scarlet dropped down on his seat to ground level, and the MSV also had a small wooden crate inside labelled 'Radioactive' (because a wooden crate would protect anyone from anything radioactive!)
I do have an Imai (like an Airfix model) of an MSV that is going to be converted to run on Scalextric at some point but I haven't managed to get the other vehicles yet. I'd have thought that a 1:32 scale of the SPV would be huge and that with the five axles in line, bends could be an issue.

Very innovative that the driver of the SPV was facing the wrong way but had a VDU showing the road - bit heavy on fuel though I imagine - 1970 ish and I was afraid to go upstairs to bed on my own or with the light off - scared of Captain Black (who i never actually saw in our house) - what a villain; dark, swarthy, menacing and sinister - of all the Gerry Anderson shows, CS was my favourite, just nudging Thunderbirds with Joe 90 and then Stingray - bit young for Fireball XL5

I think that it may have been watching old episodes of Captain Scarlet that started me on my odyssey of loving stuff from a little bit before my time!
I still love it immensely now...
