Personally I think the time-travel thing is a bit far fetched. Even where I come from in 2065 it is not possible and if Brains can't build a time-machine then it certainly can't be possible. I was able to watch Ashes To Ashes as father has a full archive of all vintage TV on his own personal holographic gamma-drive. The three-dimensional holographic renderings must be seen to be believed - especially the scene with Gene where Alex is seen removing her blouse! Scott freeze-rendered that scene many times for a gratuitous close-up. It was a great program and I agree that series two is the best. F.A.B. Fortunate that there wasn't any actual time travel then, really, isn't it? I don't think I've got anything to add to the rest of your post

At the risk of being labelled a creep....
I concur Ma'am, Guv & Boss. My faves are S2, S1 & S3. There are some wonderfully acted moments in Series 3 when everything is falling apart. The three individual video viewings of me, Chris & Shaz is a tear jerker but above all else, when we all go into the Railway Arms and leave the Guv outside is so moving.
Mars & Ashes really are superb throughout.
Raymondo.

A gratuitous what? Here you go Virgin... sorry, Virgil. Fill yer boots pal Gene Genie. You were doing very well to hide a 1980s camera in that vault, Guv. I do have a face, you know . And you say my mind is a sewer!

There's a lot of emotion in series 3 (fully expecting the Guv to pop up here and grace us with "in danger of getting poofy, Raymondo!" ) the whole falling apart business or, as Gene would have it, disconsternation , is upsetting in a way because I presume we all love it best when the whole team, be that in LoM or A2A, are working together and fighting crime! So when you know it's falling apart and can't be fixed it's very sad. Could have done with all of you today. I had to call the real police - hmmm shall we just say back up? - while I was at work because some druggies chose our doorway to collapse in and our team of 8 was whittled down to only my esteemed lady colleague and myself and she went out to move them along and it all went downhill rather sharpish. I'm not sure I've ever been so scared and I was safe inside on the phone, whereas she went outside and dealt with them the whole time until the police ... er ... back up ... arrived and the only thing that bothered her is that she smelt like fags for the rest of the day. Maybe she should be DI and I should be making tea and biscuits.

Now there's an idea.. Put the kettle on Bols an fetch the Garibaldi's.
Seriously, I always find it disconcerting when things fall apart in the last episode and Ray, Chris & Shaz side with Keats. Not quite as disconcerting as Keats hissing fit outside the Railway Arms though. What a bell-end.
Gene.

I found myself on the amazon reviews for Ashes not so long ago and I can't believe some of the bad reviews. I'm perfectly happy to accept that some people won't like it half as much as I do, but there's a wave of proper hatred out there if you look for it - especially from LoM purists. I find it bizarre that anyone could absolutely love one and hate the other. A common thread is that they were flogging a dead horse or just copied LoM ... somewhat missing the point, I feel. I can follow their logic but A2A wasn't too bad as a follow-up to LoM - but it was just that: a follow-up. But think about it, it could have been a lot worse. The writers could have retained the LoM title, made it series 3, 4, & 5, and you could have been the replacement for me just like there was the replacement of Miss Ellie in Dallas or the ongoing transitions in Doctor Who. You could even have been Alex Tyler, my younger and no so intelligent sister. Sam.

How about some proper biscuits? Ones with actual flavour?

The immediate issue for your safety is paramount but it could also have longer term impact on the business if it became a regular occurrence. You were wise to get on the dog to get "back up" rather than tackle them yourself as people like that can be so unpredictable. I hope that this was just a one-off. Sam.

Ray seems to be on my side at the moment ... perhaps he will do the honours? Yes. Those are awful, awful thoughts. Ooooh, mind you, you *did* regenerate into a woman not so long ago ... and then tried to kill yourselves. I think that’s a story for another day! Follow-up, indeed; yours was just a practice run
