£16,795!! Stunning! I've had a mk4 and a mk5 but would be more than happy to have that mk3, it's a beaut! Thanks for posting Saint. Sam.

This is a corker, lovely little motor. But yikes 21k not for me.
Shame they didn't sort the rust issues out with these even at the late stage this was from. I was tempted a couple of years ago and was close to buying one to commute in. I did my homework and rust was still the enemy on these and it put me off.

Back in 2003 I bought a year 2000 one (X reg') from its first owner, it was already starting to bubble under the headlights and there was no paint at all on the door hinges or behind the bootlid hinges. Fun to drive on its twitchy 13'' wheel and tyre combo but I sold it in 2006 before the rust got any worse. Just come across this lovely old Merc.... buy it and be Pat Tarley.... www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-W114-250/164370074006?hash=item2645384996:g:6kgAAOSw4PlfU6jUVillain

It’s a shame rust is such an issue with classic cars! And I suppose the older the car then usually got more rust! I used to have a old mini in the 90s was a great car! And there great for flying round S shaped bends and not being able to roll um easily! My mate was following me once, behind in his car! I absolutely leathered the mini round this bend! And he said I just looked like a crash test dummy lol!! Can’t believe how much the old mini’s are now going for on eBay! just checked that Merc out that Villian posted on here! Yeah ya could imagine him driving that with his lamb chop side burns! In the Sweeney 2 film, looking like a right Villian haha!! but I agree with Del’ ya can’t beat a old Merc’ they’re like a fine pint of the best!! Did have a A class once for a run about and that was riddled with the brown stuff! Ive just bought a old V280 van which I’m gonna use as a camper van, it’s only got minor rust issues that I’m tending to, but over all it’s probably one of the best examples left, up to now that I’ve seen..

Mercedes are still dining out on the reputation built all those years ago. Lots of the modern stuff certainly this century isn't the quality product it purports to be in my experience. There was the well publicised rust issues and as for longevity of electrical equipment that's a constant pain on many models. Can't fault the performance when they work to be fair. The engines are by and large very good indeed. Electronics, a modern curse with cars.

You’re exactly right, I couldn’t agree more, Del darling! They’re not as good as they once were- living on a Legend!

Two lovely classics for sale which have caught my eye, at opposite ends of the spectrum : A two owner 1970 unrestored Rover P5B Coupe (in my favourite body colour combo).... www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1278965And a very very rare right hand drive 1974 Lamborghini Urraco which has featured in a few books and magazines over the years.... www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1276058I'd say the Rover is very well priced considering its originality, although the leather could do with some attention. The Lambo is also fairly priced considering it's rarity - less than 800 were built between 1972 and 1979 and only about 50 or so were RHD. Villain
