As I was heading north on the M1 this morning a couple of exotics flashed by going south - a black Ferrari 360 closely followed by a rare and very beautiful dark blue Lamborghini Urraco, which was at least three decades older than the Fezza.

I didn't know what this model looked and had to look it up here's the picture.

Fantastic shots Batgirl. Even more evocative in the rain. Those are Australian plates aren't they ?
A Sweeney 2 yellow Cortina in the background. Was there enough hair on the headlining for a wig ?
Gene Genie.

Great pictures Batgirl, thanks for posting them up.
I particularly like the dark brown mk3 XL in the first pic, it reminds me of a 2000 GXL I was so close to buying in about '81. It was between that and a new Suzuki, the Suzuki won!

Gene Genie. Yes indeed they are Australian club plates. Any cars with the brown plates and white lettering are club registrations here. The owner must be a financial member of a car club and is therefore entitled to a cheaper registration cost. The car cannot be an everyday drive to qualify for this.

I'm going to stay with the Cortina 'theme'. A motoring museum has been established in Geelong (Australia) to take cars from the soon to be closed Ford premises. The manufacturing premises apparently had a display of cars so thankfully they will stay in the area in a lovely old building. It is a very informal display. You can open car doors, sit in cars, touch them, which is a nice change from the usual display rules. Also some interactive displays where you ride a bike to get engine pistons moving, see under the panels of partly restored cars. Private owners can also display their classic cars here for months at a time if they are wanted for display, and even take offers to sell their cars ! No luck with the white Cortina unfortunately that is a museum piece.
