I think we'll have to do a re-used Sweeney schmutter thread Don't want to dwell on The Sweeney but the vicar in Jigsaw who is friendly with Boyse & Fat Eric reminded me of the priest, also involved with crims, in 'The Enforcer', though that came later in 1976.

I watched Jigsaw on blu ray last night & I'd forgotten that Carter actually mentions Clint Eastwood by name in the episode. Also noticed that Eddie Boyse has the same tie on as TP McKenna in Night Out, pretty sure Regan wore it as well in some episodes. Glad it's not just me Arthur, I've also often noted a tie or dressing gown used by someone else

The Dirty Harry series starts of with the said Dirty Harry. A super film, the stand out performer of the film being Andy Robinson who played Scorpio. The second film Magnum Force is an excellent follow up, but the series falls away after the first two films, which stand up very well even today.

Agree totally, only the first two are worth bothering with imo.

The third one had a couple of good elements but the two made in 80's were bizarre drivel, can't understand what possessed Eastwood to make them.

Sudden Impact has its moments & though not realistic I like the theme of a rape survivor hunting down the perpetrators & the scene where Harry discovers her & turns a blind eye to her actions. It also contains the 'go ahead, make my day' moment & a scene in a lift that brings Jack Regan's confrontation with Charlie Pearce to mind-

Must have been a fairly small lift if it was only the width of a Callaghan arm and body.
As AP says there are a couple of good scenes in Sudden Impact but it had all really been done and better by then in the first two films.
