Just looked on Amazon, £14.99 for the blue ray collection. Amazing! I thought it might have been £40 to £50. I will have to have some of that.

I ordered the blue ray collection VI. I ordered Get Carter blue ray too. (Been meaning to get that for ages.)
That qualified me for free postage. I've been told I will get it on Wednesday.

Screencap from The Sweeney episode 'Jigsaw' which has a plotline that may well have been copied from Dirty Harry- the scene where Regan is accused of harassing Boyse by his local MP is very similar to the youtube clip Bojan posted. Also 'Big Brother' with Regan being accused of police brutality is similar to Scorpio paying to be beaten up, pinning it on Callahan & the press getting in on it. The opening of 'Queen's Pawn' reminds me of the scene in Magnum Force where Palancio appears outside court having got off & although it came later there's a scene in, I think, 'Sudden Impact' where Callahan gatecrashes a mobster's meal in a restaurant & makes a scene that reminds me of Regan interrupting Lyon's party in Queen's Pawn. The plot of 'Bad Apple' may have been borrowed from Magnum Force, the opening scene where the shop is staked out is very similar to a scene in MF & the part where Huke is discovered & has his brief speech- 'it's their loss', etc. reminds me of Briggs justifying his actions to Callahan.

Nice cap Arthur and yes the plots sound very similar now you come to mention it. Its been donkeys years since i've seen the Dirty Harry films. I am a fan though.

An example, I thought, of the law of diminishing returns in sequels. The first, 1971, film is brilliant, the second, 1973, one is very good, the ones from then on, much less so.

I watched Jigsaw on blu ray last night & I'd forgotten that Carter actually mentions Clint Eastwood by name in the episode. Also noticed that Eddie Boyse has the same tie on as TP McKenna in Night Out, pretty sure Regan wore it as well in some episodes.

I bet they had to have a wardrobe truck for locations ? So some of the stuff would have no doubt been reused.
