For me The Sweet were at their best between '73 and '75 with Blockbuster, Hell Raiser, Ballroom Blitz, Teenage Rampage, and Fox On The Run.
Their earlier material always reminds me of school holidays and going to visit cousins that had a couple of The Sweet LPs, tracks such as Funny Funny, Co-Co, and Poppa Joe that I suppose could have been classed as 'Bubblegum pop'. Little Willy and Wig-Wam-Bam were a step-up from these but their heavier style with Blockbuster etc was certainly more my type of music at the time.
I think they lost their way a bit with songs such as The Six Teens, The Lies In Their Eyes, and Peppermint Twist but then came back with a fairly decent Love Is Like Oxygen.
I now have various albums from The Sweet that finally made it to CD that I have also ripped to play in the car. I have to be in the right mood to listen to a whole album but Blockbuster, Hell Raiser, Ballroom Blitz, Teenage Rampage, and Fox On The Run I could listen to any time.

Always thought Sweet and Slade were excellent. Interesting documentary segment here:

This is the B side to Little Willy, that shows the Hard rock underbelly of Sweet at the time. Got a touch of Deep Purple in Rock about it.
