Yes I liked that Donna Summer disco version too. Also, I didn't know that Walking in the Rain by The Partridge Family was a cover, apparently, it was done originally by the Ronettes.

Donna Summer also did a good cover of Barry Manilow's Could It Be Magic
Whether it was better than Manilow's I'll let you all decide, I think I prefer it but one thing's for sure, both are better than Take That's version.
Sam.

Yes, you're right about that, Cartman. The Walker Brothers also did a cover of the song, but it was The Partridge Family's version which was the most successful and probably best remembered. Vi

Quite a few of the two tone/ska hits around 79/80 were covers too, but the originals were very obscure Jamaican records from the 60s which hardly anyone (myself included) had heard of, so the assumption vwas that they were new songs

I don't which is better or worse but depends whether you're a fan of either I suppose or indifferent but I well remember The Pet Shop Boys cover of "You were always on my mind" originally by Elvis.....

I think Elvis gets my vote on that one I am not particularly keen on either version but slightly prefer The Pet Shop Boys version. It's the less bad out of the 2 Steed
