I heard this earlier and I think it's far better than the original which wasn't bad either:

Recently, I heard Gene Pitney's original recording of 'Something's gotten hold of my Heart' from 1967 and then listened to his later duet of the same song with Marc Almond from 1989. I do prefer the cover version, and it also reached No.1 as well. Vi

Never heard that version of Superstition either. Looking at wikipedia, there is an interesting story behind the song, it came about as a collaboration between Wonder & Jeff Beck-

Don't know whether this one is better than the original but I quite like this cover of Light My Fire by Massive Attack.

Don't know whether this one is better than the original .... There's a simple answer to that one Dirty:
No cover version has ever been better than the original - not even Will Young's!

Credit where it is due Dirty, they did a pretty good job of it because they kept it close to The Doors' original.

Yeah think the Bunnymen were fans of The Doors and other similar bands, I think a lot of the Liverpool bands of that period were too.

Made all the more confusing as the cover version was released before the original, ultimately becoming a huge hit for Stevie Wonder, and leaving Jeff Beck a bit disgruntled.
