Just created a thread in the A2A chat and thought, well, Life on Mars was just as superbly written!
My all time favourite line in this was (obviously):-
"You great soft, sissy, girlie, nancy, french, bender, Man United supporting puff!"

Not Quite Gene, but anyone with memories of the terraces in the 1980s must love this :D

Just created a thread in the A2A chat and thought, well, Life on Mars was just as superbly written! Superbly acted an'all luv. Great idea for a thread! One of my favourites.... After finding a football fan dead in a back street.... Ray Carling: I think it was a heart attack.
Gene Hunt: Then it must've exploded out of his arse, there's blood all down his back.Gene Genie.

One of my favourites from LoM was:
Annie Cartwright: "Boss, there's a viscous yellow liquid in his ear" Gene Hunt: "No, that's the drip from my fried egg butty love. Well done Miss Marple, that's why we need women detectives!"
The other has to be:
Gene Hunt: "Ay ay, good girl, prostate probe and no jelly!"
Sam.

I really like Gene's devotion to his Cortina Mk3...and understanding of the junior psyche. "Anything happens to this motor, I'll come around your houses and stamp on all your toys. Got it? Good kids"

Great idea for a thread Debbie. Difficult to choose a favourite line though with so many to choose from. What about when Annie has Sam bent over the desk. Gene says "good girl... prostate probe and no jelly" Raymondo.

In a bizarre twist of fate, the landlord of the Trafford Arms was arrested ... on suspicion of cattle rustling.
Also a massive soft spot for “I’m the negotiator” “I’ll make you a hat”
It’s funny actually - that episode with the hostages in the press office, I used to really hate. When I watched through, I’d skip it. I watched it a few months back and really enjoyed it. No idea what I used to dislike. Strange!

Granted that’s not a favourite moment of mine, but you were fine, weren’t you! Shame I didn’t have a strategically placed hip-flask when you pointed your gun at me ...
