There used to be a woman in my local Bargain Booze who called customers 'sweety'. She no longer works there but oddly there's another woman now working there who does the same. Maybe it's a Bargain Booze staff policy.

I've stopped doing that kind of thing over the years although I caught myself saying thanks love to someone who served me in Newcastle the other day. She didn't look too happy with it TBH.

I think a woman saying it to another woman or to a man is ok. I have come across the odd person who finds 'love' patronising rather than sexist if the person saying it is younger than they are. You don't hear 'dear' very much these days. In the 80's there was a newsagent near me who called everyone 'cock', not sure whether customers would swallow that today
Personally I don't mind what anyone calls me as long as it's not squire, boyo, mate, admiral, captain, chief, pal, etc.

The ladies in the local shop sometimes use and I do in the right circumstances, never seen anyone complain. I dare say if you said in some trendy right on coffee shop they would take offence. I've known women who take offence at people holding the door open for them! Just don't involve me in your hang-ups ladies.

On the topic of annoying edits, Amazon Prime have all 4 series, Taste of Fear doesn't seem to edited.

Bit of a dilemma today. Extinction Rebellion have disrupted supplies of newspapers. I can't stand extinction rebellion, but I equally can't stand the trashy tabloid press.

Perhaps you thought that you had logged in to the other one? Sam.

One of my male colleagues calls all of us “dude” and “mate” and I despise it.
